Which ABS errors won't clear via VCDS?

Some ABS fault codes (e.g. C123EF0) are written to persistent memory of the Bosch MK60/MK100/ESP9 module and remain even after VCDS / OBD clear. The entries reside in a 36-byte fault-history slot in the 25AA256 EEPROM (32 KB). Repair requires external EEPROM dump modification — our app does this safely and automatically.

  • Bentley: Bentayga (MLB Evo)
  • VW: Touareg, Passat, Tiguan
  • Porsche: Cayenne, Macan
  • Škoda / SEAT: selected premium models on MQB/MLB platform

NOTE: ESP10 module (e.g. Audi Q7 4M0907379K) has a different layout — currently out of scope. Before buying a token contact us to verify your specific module.

How does it work?

You upload the 25AA256 EEPROM dump (32 KB) — exactly as a programmer reads it. Our tool identifies the fault-history slot by structural signature (record headers + boundary patterns), verifies isolation from other EEPROM regions, and precisely erases the slot to a blank EEPROM state (0xFF). Result: identical state as if the module had never recorded an error. You download the file ready to flash.

Pricing + safety

1 token = 1 file. Token is not consumed on errors (e.g. incompatible module). Verified for the core Bosch ABS families (MK60/MK100/ESP9). The algorithm verifies EEPROM structure before modifying — refuses to work if it doesn't recognize the slot (better to fail than damage the module). Before flashing to the car we recommend testing on a bench module.

Frequently asked questions

Is my ABS module supported?
Bosch MK60, MK100 and ESP9 with 25AA256 EEPROM (32 KB) are supported. ESP10 not yet. If unsure — send the dump and we'll verify. Token refunded if module isn't recognized.
What exactly is modified in the EEPROM?
The 36-byte fault-history slot is erased to blank EEPROM state (0xFF). Other EEPROM regions (calibrations, coding, immobilizer) are untouched — verified bit-exact match.
What if the module isn't recognized?
The algorithm refuses modification (better fail than brick). Token is not consumed. You can then ask us for manual analysis — sometimes it requires adding a new matcher for a rarer module variant.
What about ESP10 modules (e.g. Audi Q7 4M0907379K)?
ESP10 has a different fault-history slot layout. We don't currently support it. To add support, we need before/after file pairs (original + manually cleaned). Contact us if you have such samples.
Is this legal?
Modifying your own module in workshop conditions (bench / off-road) is legal. Use of the vehicle in public traffic with modifications is subject to local regulations — responsibility lies with the user.
